At a glittering party at Kensington Roof Gardens on September 7th, the great and good of the jewellery industry gathered together to celebrate the launch of the inaugural Professional Jeweller Hot 100. Lauren Adriana made the list in the NexGems category, which gives the top new names to watch. The project, created in collaboration with The Company of Master Jewellers and with support from sponsors Swarovski, DMJ and Hot Diamonds, has culminated in a glamorous book that features beautiful photography and intimate personal profiles of 100 of the most influential movers and shakers in the industry.

The launch year will see the first 100 people inducted into the exclusive Hot 100 club, but over the years many more names will be added into a list that will be recognised as the Hollywood Walk of Fame for jewellery and watch professionals.

UK JEWELLERY AWARDS FINALIST

The stars of the British jewellery industry were recognised at this year’s UK Jewellery Awards – a glittering gala dinner held at the historic Grosvenor House on Park Lane. Lauren Adriana was a finalist in the Best New Jewellery Designer category, which recognizes the latest and most cutting edge jewellery design. The 2010 awards were presented by TV personality Claudia Winkleman, who took to the stage to announce the awards in her trademark humorous style. The presentations were interspersed with dazzling fashion shows, showcasing the finalists’ jewellery.

For nearly twenty years the UK Jewellery Awards has been the recognition of success, and 2010 encouraged jewellery designers and brands alike to recognise what they have achieved over the past year in a very difficult climate.

AMBASSADOR FOR BRITISH JEWELLERY WEEK

Representing the latest in contemporary fine jewellery, British Jewellery Week launched with Lauren Adriana, Jasmine Alexander and Tomasz Donocik headlining the event. The three designers, which have been hailed as the rising starts of the British jewellery industry, will act as ambassadors to the occasion, with their work forming the centerpiece of each showcase.

The touring exhibition aims to promote the latest wave of innovative British jewellery designers by demonstrating their unique talents in exhibitions at leading stores across the country. Lauren Adriana’s work will be on display from June – September 2010.

THE ITALIAN JEWELLERY AWARDS 2009

The second edition of the Italian Jewellery Awards was held in the historic city of Naples and celebrated talent and creativity in jewellery design, alongside innovation and branding. Lauren Adriana was one of only five finalists to be selected for the Best Young UK Jewellery Designer award, and attended a glittering gala dinner event on November 28th in the historic splendour of San Lorenzo Maggiore in the heart of Naples. This stunning location provided the backdrop to a night of prosecco, cocktails and delicious local cuisine, followed by music from Italian actress and singing superstar Serena Autieri. The jury for the 2009 awards included Alba Cappellieri, a renowned expert in jewellery design; Riccardo Dalisi, a distinguished architect and designer; Sarah Carpin, Editor of Britain’s Retail Jeweller magazine; Ilaria Danieli, Editor of Vogue Gioiello; and David Metcalfe, Chairman of the British Jewellery Giftware and Finishing Federation. Campania region sponsored the event, which took place with the patronage of the Vicenza Fair and the UK’s Retail Jeweller and Italy’s Vogue Gioiello were media partners.

Behind the Seams – Portraits by Alistair Guy

Longtime friend and darling of the fashion industry Alistair Guy opened his first solo exhibition at The Tapestry Gallery, a cooler than cool venue on Soho’s Frith Street. The private view was a buzz of names from the world of fashion; all there to check out their portraits, drink vodka martinis and support their favourite photographer. The exhibition titled ‘Behind The Seams’ showcases the girls who make London fashion what it is today. Lauren Adriana was chosen as one of ‘Alistair’s Girls’ and her portrait was on show alongside other established and up-and-coming names within the industry, such as illustrator Daisy de Villeneuve, designer Hannah Marshall, model Ben Grimes, Vogue journalist Emma Elwick and celebrity stylist Alexia Somerville.

The exhibition runs from 17 April 09 at Tapestry Gallery, 51-52 Frith Street, London
